New marketing manager for APL

AUSTRALIA - Australian Pork Limited (APL), the pork industry’s national representative body, has appointed Peter Haydon as General Manager for Marketing.

Mr Haydon has extensive experience of international and local marketing strategies, in both operational and ‘best-practice’areas.

Before joining APL, he was a director of marketing consultancy where his primary expertise was involved in demand creation, portfolio and brand strategy. He has specialist experience in consumer communication, category management, new product development and pricing strategy and tactics. He has also worked in brand devlopment with Kraft and Cadbury, creating and implementing sales and marketing global best practice for Lion Nathan and as a marketing manager for Cerebos ANZ.

“I am looking forward to some new and exciting challenges with APL,” said Mr Haydon. “I believe my skills will be challenged in the process of enhancing and developing the unique product of pork for Australian producers.”

APL Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Spencer, said that pork is currently in a prime position and is competing on the same platform as lamb and beef. “This is a great opportunity for APL, securing a General Manager with the high calibre skills of Peter Haydon, who will be an asset to our organisation and Australia’s pork industry.”

Mr Haydon replaces former General Manager, Marketing, Mr Terry Brown.
