Vets, stock inspectors, quarantine officials and wildlife rangers are amongst those taking part in Exercise Wild Boar.

Chief veterinary officer, Dr Brian Radunz, says the exercise will test the response to a potential outbreak in the 4 million feral pigs roaming the Territory.

"Swine fever is a viral disease of pigs which can vary from very rapid death to very mild signs to maybe 5-10 per cent of the pigs dying," he said.
