Lincoln County Hog Farm Approved

US - Lincoln County officials have approved a permit for a large hog farm 11 miles south of Lennox.

An Iowa man plans to build a 2,200-head hog confinement operation, over the objections of neighbors who worry about potential water pollution.

However, a lawyer for the hog farm says the nearest aquifer is at least 50 feet underground, covered with dense clay and a mile away.

Lincoln County Commissioners voted 3-2 for the conditional-use permit.
