The issues include:

  • The legacy of foot and mouth restrictions.

  • High feed prices.

  • The cost of compliance with Nitrate Vulnerable Zones.

  • The cost of Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control legislation.

Many Scottish pig producers are questioning their future in the sector.

All with an interest in the pig industry are invited, in fact urged, to attend the meeting.
It will be jointly hosted by NFU Scotland and Scottish Pig Producers, at 7pm on Thursday 25 October, at Lochter Activity Centre, Old Meldrum.
