Pork strong feature of new processing facility

THAILAND - Ajinomoto Frozen Foods has opened a new production facility in Thailand. It aimns to serve increasing consumer demands for variety and quality, says the company.

New lines have been installed in a production facility, which is part of a joint venture a joint venture between Ajinomoto Frozen Foods and the Betagro Agro-Group.

The businesses produce mainly produces frozen processed chicken products, with a valuable and expanding export market to Japan. Although its Ajinomoto Betagro Specialty Foods division will produce frozen processed pork products and has added new lines including a fry facility, to help increase current production capacity to 9,000 tons. The new lines have been in operation since September 2007 and proving successful, says the company.

Ajinomoto Betagro Specialty Foods boasts an advanced technology frozen processed pork production, which involves using high health breeding stock to produce quality pork carcases - the raw material.

The company's's new production facility is located on Betagro's Food Complex 2, 8 kilometers away from an existing plant. Seven lines were newly installed in the plant area of 22,000 square meters, to triple its current production capacity to 24,000 tons. Production operated by the existing plant has been shifted to the new production facility, which has been in operation starting October 22.
