UK - Consultant practitioners David Chennells (MA, VetMB, CertPM, MRCVS) and John Mackinnon (BVetMed, CertPM, FRCVS) are the winners of the 2007 Marbocyl Achievement Awards.

The Pig Veterinary Society presented the awards during its Autumn Meeting on 14 November.

David, of the Acorn Veterinary Practice, Bedford, was praised for his outstanding service to the Pig Veterinary Society, Veterinary education and 'Clinical Club'.
John, who is based in East Anglia, was recognised for his outstanding services to the Pig Veterinary Society and specialist service on Veterinary Medicines and Legislation.

David (pictured) was presented with his certificate and a cheque by Mark Stanton, Vetoquinol's Intensive Livestock Business Manager. Unfortunately, John was unable to attend the meeting.

"It is a great honour to present the Marbocyl Achievement Award 2007 to David and John. They have made an outstanding contribution to the pig industry and are valuable members of the PVS," said Mark Stanton.

David Chennells said that he was very proud to receive the achievement award.
"I am sure that John will join me in taking this opportunity to thank Vetoquinol for its generous support of the Society, it is greatly appreciated," he added.

VĂ©toquinol UK expanded the Marbocyl Achievement Awards in 2006 to include the Universities of Glasgow, Liverpool, Cambridge, Bristol, Dublin and Edinburgh. The awards mark the 10th anniversary of Marbocyl, the UK's best-selling fluoroquinolone antibiotic, in animal health market.
