Efficiency and Export Focus for Federation Convention
PHILIPPINES - 'Enhancing Pork Production for the Export Market' is the theme of the Philippines National Federation of Hog Farmers (NFHFI) 17th Annual Hog Convention and Trade Exhibition.
The event will be held from 24 to 26 April 2008 at the Cebu International Convention Center, Mandaue City, Province of Cebu and will be hosted by the Cebu Association of Meat & Poultry Products Multi-Purpose Cooperative (CAMMP) headed by their Chairman, Pluy Ong. It will also feature a series of seminars on swine management and production and the eradication of common swine diseases.
The convention will be a gathering of all pig producers - both commercial and backyard farmers - from across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. It will feature a Backyard Hog Farmers Congress, sponsored by B-Meg and San Miguel Foods, Inc.
The trade exhibits are expected to number 125 and will showcase the latest veterinary products and innovative equipment. There will also be a selection of live pig exhibits.
The event is part of NFHFI's mission to protect and promote the interest of the hog farmers as well as to enhance the opportunities for growth, efficiency, equity and sustainability of the Phillipines 120-billion pesos hog industry.
