Livestock Care Focus of Alberta Conference
ALBERTA - Alberta Farm Animal Care (AFAC) is hosting a Livestock Care Conference in Red Deer on 4 April 2008.
Conference speakers will address new trends in animal welfare, science, values and education, farm animal welfare in Europe and the US and the implications for Canadian agriculture Other topics will include the new animal welfare audits at Alberta provincial meat plants, livestock husbandry and care laws and communication throughout the meat chain.
Featured speakers are John Webster, University of Bristol, UK, Ed Pajor of Purdue University, Temple Grandin of Colorado State University and Dan Murphy from journals the Meating Place & Poultry Magazine.
Registration costs for the conference are $105 per person in advance or $126 per person at the conference.
