Government Money to Help Tackle Blue Ear

VIET NAM - The Vietnamese Government has allocated 120 billion VND to help provinces affected by blue ear disease (PRRS). It hopes the funds will help producers and vets control the disease and prevent an epidemic.

Reports on news service Vietnamnet, say that Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai announced the budget at his meeting in Hanoi on April 10 with representatives of blue ear disease-hit provinces and concerned ministries to discuss measures to combat diseases in animals and poultry.

The sum includes 70 billion VND for Thanh Hoa Province, 25 billion VND for Ha Tinh Province, 15 billion VND for Nghe An Province and 10 billion VND for Quang Nam Province.

The Deputy PM also said the Government will support farmers having infected pigs culled by giving 25,000 VND to one kg of pig.

“Though diseases in animals and poultry occur annualy but administrations at all levels and branches have not yet taken preventive measures effectively,” said the Government leader.
