UK - Hard pressed pig farmers took thier troubles to town yesterday in Hull. They herded three little pigs into the city to highlight a crisis in their industry.

Shoppers looked on as the Pig Issue Tour rolled into Queen Victoria Square as part of a high-profile campaign to save pig farming, says the Hull Daily Mail.

Crisis hit East Yorkshire producers wanted to demonstrate that the little pigs could lose up to £25 a head when they go to market. They called on shoppers to buy only British pork, bacon and sausages and help to save the industry.

The tour of major cities and towns is part of the Pigs Are Worth It campaign, which aims to persuade processors and retailers to pay more for pigs.
