According to the Argus Leader, No arrests were made during the demonstration and when construction crews quit for the day so did the protesters, said Mike Archambeau, of the Highway Patrol. But not until they set up a tipi on tribal land north of the site.

The tipi was erected as a symbol of the tribe, he said.

“It looks like it’s a long stay,” Archambeau said. “We’re going to stay until they’re out of there. They don’t belong there.”
