Under a decision signed by VEPF’s Director Truong Manh Tien, Lam Dong, Ninh Binh, Thai Binh, Thai Nguyen and Thua Thien-Hue provinces will receive the money to ensure the culling of infected pigs would not affect the environment.

The VEPF has previously given 270 million VND to central provinces to prevent the spread of blue ear disease.

According to the National Steering Board for Prevention and Control of Bird Flu, the blue ear epidemic has been gradually reined in northern and central areas, with no new cases reported in most provinces.

The Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Development asked the Veterinary Department to speed up trial vaccination against the epidemic and tighten veterinary inspection.
