Atria originally announced that the plant would be ready for operations by year-end 2008.

According to the contractor YIT Construction Ltd, the postponement is due to delayed water and sewer connection.

The logistics centre will be ready for use as planned in summer 2008. The new plant located in the Gorelovo district of St Petersburg will house a meat product plant and a logistics centre.

The new facilities will double Atria Russia's meat product capacity and the delay will also postpone the start of Atria's deliveries to new customers outside St Petersburg.

Atria and YIT have agreed on the compensation to be paid for the delays.
