Mr Dent remains on the WAPPA executive as vice-president, with fellow producer members Richard Evison (treasurer) of Narrikup, Errol Howard, of Wannamal, and Lui Rinaldi, of PPC Linley Valley Fresh, Wooroloo.

Farmonline reports that Mr Martin, who was elected to WAPPA executive in 2006, has been involved in the WA pork industry since 1997, initially with Westpork, before starting his own operation in 2001, along with wife Sharon.

'Martin's Piggery' grows out under contract to Wandalup Farms.

The Martins run a mixed livestock farming operation, with sheep, cattle and 8000 grower pigs housed in 32 eco-shelters on their 1100 hectare property.

Creating a marketing environment where all fresh pork sold in WA is grown in WA is a 'Martin marketing mantra'.

"We produce some of the best pork in Australia and simply need to ensure WA shoppers demand WA-grown pork and that they have a positive eating experience every time," he said.

Mr Martin said WAPPA would continue to work closely with key fresh pork exporters to maintain and explore further export opportunities in Asia, enabling WA to exploit its capacity to supply increased tonnages of fresh pork into the region.
