EU Pig Prices: Downward Suction for Quotations
EU - The current week in the European slaughter pig market seems to be filled with gloom.

The quotations stand under pressure. The price discounts range from -1 cent to -8 cents and are being mutually pulled in a downward direction. The Danish quotation has maintained ground on an existing level. The Spaniards seem to rank last on the European price structure.
The cause of weakness is the same at all markets: the enterprises have made a complaint over an noticeable rise in offer. An excessive offer back-up cannot be determined as yet, but the very calm meat business prepares itself for problems, should any arise. Stagnating pork exports to Eastern Europe are an additional source of weakness in this entire situation.
Trend: The further development of the numbers of items, in conjunction with the readiness of the producers, will have a considerable amount of influence on upcoming quotations. Further weakness is not to be excluded.
