EU Pig Prices: Markets in a State of Shock
EU - The tendency at the European slaughter pig market is strongly clouded this week.

The quotations must have booked such substantial price discounts that the market players are in shock mode. Even the pessimists hadn't counted on price reductions of such heights. Most countries gave way to a corrected 10 cents. The French and Dutch quotations are approximately equivalent with that of Denmark. The Spanish quotation falls below the Danish price level now already for the second time in a row.
The public discussion over removal of consumer demand has impaired the market. Strong fluctuations with the rates of exchange between various currencies restrain export trade. The financial crisis draws its circles in second row, since for third countries, bank guarantees are no longer issued to businesses without reservations.
Trend: It is believed that the present situation can only be abated with a declining offer.
