Only a few countries (namely, the Netherlands and Belgium) are able to increase slaughter pig prices. Spain is also among the few countries to up its price for slaughter pigs. France, on a price level of corrected 1.347 EUR/kg SG, forms the tail light of the European price structure. Contrary to many market players' expectations, the German price quotation remains on an unchanged level.

The lack of change in Germany's price, however, is causing a bit of annoyance within the EU. The reason? Because the enterprises are sufficiently supplied with live pigs, they (from their point of view), have successfully pulled the brakes and suspended with it the friendly trend.

Perhaps the red side wants to take precautions also for the next weeks. Against this background, rising prices for some sections in the sale is causing bitterness within the producers. At the last European Union meeting in Brussels, it was decided that the demand of individual member states, after export reimbursements, for pork and private storekeeping would not be allowed.

Trend: Altogether, the European slaughter pig market presents itself as balanced. After general hearing, the offer to consumers is stable.
