Russia Planning to Halve Pigmeat Imports
RUSSIA - Russia plans to halve next year's pork import quotas.The country will cut quotas by 200,000 tonnes. It intends to fill the shortfall with its own production.This means there will be even more cut-price Danish pork swilling around the world.
Russia pork imports are set at 493,500 tonnes this year and were due to rise to 502,200 tonnes next year. The European Union has the largest share of the quotas.
