Mark Townsend

Mark’s task will be to develop the company’s customer base among both the trade and farmers. He will provide technical on-farm advice in relation to ration formulation, for ruminants and pigs, with particular emphasis on the dairy sector.

Having gained NCD and NCA qualifications at Somerset College of Agriculture, Mark acquired practical experience working on dairy farms in both the UK and United States before managing large-scale herds in the south and south-west of England. He then moved onto consultancy work with Promar International — the agri-food business arm of Genus — picking up the prestigious Consultant’s Consultant Award, before becoming a director of a farmer-controlled business buying group in Somerset.

In his new post he will continue to be based in Somerset where his spare-time hobbies include power-kiting, touring motorbikes and DIY. He is also a qualified FA referee.
