Numerous interested visitors accepted the invitation to the opening: a proud number of 1,000 farmers, family members, neighbours and friends came to Freren to have a look at the new building for 1,200 finishing pigs.

In their search for innovative housing equipment, the Driever family opted for the German equipment supplier Big Dutchman.

The 29 x 63 m barn houses ten compartments with eight pens each and one extra compartment. Every pen can hold 15 pigs. All compartments are equipped with animal-friendly and easy-to-clean housing equipment from Big Dutchman for increased stability and a long service life.

For thorough barn cleaning the Driever family installed a soaking system and a central high-pressure cleaner.

Big Dutchman not only supplied the housing equipment but also the entire feeding system. Among others this includes the reliable double automatic feeder PicNic-Jumbo which promotes high weight gains in the finishing phase.

The pigs are fed by a multi-phase dry feeding system with two separate feed loops. Feed is supplied by the reliable DRY RAPID tube conveyor.
