In Denmark and Spain the prices remained unchanged. With the temperatures hot, the number of pigs mature for slaughter went down considerably in Spain. Therefore, the slaughter companies reduced their numbers of slaughter or even left out one day or the other of slaughter. The prices in both Great Britain and in Sweden had to be lowered a little once more as a result of changes in the currency exchange rates.

The prices went up clearly in Germany, the Netherlands, Austria and Belgium. So the pigs-mature-for-slaughter prices were increased by a corrected 4 cents. In the Netherlands, the prices were not quite able to follow the German price objective. Nevertheless, the Dutch price could be increased by a corrected 2 cents. Conditional on the French national holiday (Tuesday last week), the French price went down by a corrected 1 cent.

Trend: As demand continues to be brisk and the quantities of pigs mature for slaughter being on offer remains moderate, everyone involved in the market expects the market to remain stable at least.
