Written by Pig Business Manager, John Richardson, this new guide is proving essential reading for pig unit staff and farm advisers.

The correct use and storage of veterinary medicines on the pig farm

Each section provides detailed background, direction and illustrations for the use of vaccines and medicines on the farm. Topics range from an understanding of how viruses and diseases affect pig herds through to specific practical guides on the correct storage, handling and administering of animal health products on the unit.

Introducing the guide, Mr Richardson explains: "The advances we make as a supplier of pig medicines can only be truly exploited if we can communicate to unit staff how they should be used to give their full potential. This guide has been written as an easy reference for all unit staff as they implement their health plans."

Pig producers in the UK who would like a copy of the guide can obtain one from their veterinary surgeon.
