The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received Follow-up Report No. 1 from Norway yesterday (13 October).

This is an emerging disease and the event pertains to the entire country.

According to the report, the affected population consists of a fattening pig farm with a total of 415 animals. The owner had been sick with flu-like symptoms for some time. He had been working in the index farm.

It has, thereby, been confirmed that contact with an infected person is the source of the outbreak.

The OIE, in conjunction with the country's veterinary authorities, are applying several measures to curb the spread of the disease.
