The right choice of genetics is essential as the race is not about more piglets, but uniformity and vitality leading to better bottom line results. A highly actual theme in North Western Europe and therefore well received.

During the symposium on “Some pigs are more equal than others” at the third day of the congress Managing Director of Hypor Antoon van de Berg shared his vision on the future challenges of the Dutch market. Cooperation across the pork value chain is key for a sustainable future.

Excursions on the fourth day showed the attendees the strength of the Hypor sow and the vitality and uniformity of the piglets under different conditions. The breeding programme of Hypor is not focused solely on more piglets born, but a balance between piglet quality, reproduction capacity, uniformity and vitality. Bottom line a better choice!
