Another ASF Outbreak Reported in Russia

RUSSIA - The Russian veterinary authorities have reported yet another outbreak of African swine fever in the country.

The World Ogranisation for Animal Health (OIE) received follow-up report no. 43 yesterday, 27 October. According to the report, the outbreak took place at a farm in the Krasnodar region.

The ASF outbreak occured on 21 October. A total of 6987 swine were found susceptible, out of which twenty were identified as infected. Out of the twenty affected animals, six died and the remaining 14 were destroyed.

The source of the outbreak remains to date unidentified.
