KSU Swine Day 2010

US - Kansas State University's Department of Animal Sciences and Industry will host Swine Day 2010 on 18 November at the KSU Alumni Center in Manhattan.

The day begins at 08:00hr with registration and a technology trade show. The programme starts at 09:45hr.

A highlight of Swine Day is the release of the K-State Swine Team's annual research report. The team will discuss how the research results can improve pork producers' net returns.

This year, Dr Steve Henry of Abilene Animal Hospital, will discuss the 'Failure to Thrive' Syndrome occurring on several Kansas swine farms. Joe Kerns, a risk management expert from International Agribusiness Group, will discuss methods to manage risk in today's swine industry.

The programme will end at 15:30hr, followed by a reception featuring K-State ice cream.

The fee to attend is $20 if paid by 10 November and $30 after that date and at the door. The fee includes the cost of lunch and conference proceedings.
