Russia Discovers Three New ASF Outbreaks

RUSSIA - The Russian veterinary authorities have reported three new outbreaks of African swine fever in two regions.

The World Organisation for Animal Health received follow-up report no. 44 dated 17 November. While the first outbreak occured in Karachayevo-Cherkesskaya Resp., the other two took place in Krasnodarsky kray.

All outbreaks took place at farms in the regions mentioned above. A total of 7978 animals were found susceptible to the disease. Out of these, 135 animals were affected. While a total of 39 deaths were recorded, 5619 animals were destroyed.

The source of the outbreak is still under investigation.
