France Reports New Outbreak of Aujeszky's Disease
FRANCE - The French veterinary authorities have reported a new outbreak of Aujezsky's disease after more than a month, the last outbreak having occured on 20 October.
The World Organisation for Animal Health received follow-up report no. 5 yesterday, 2 December. The outbreak reportedly took place on 29 November, at a farm in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques region, which is in the Southwest of France.
According to the report, two animals were found susceptible, and when an antibody detection ELISA test was run at the Laboratoire départemental d'analyses des Pyrénées-Atlantiques, a local laboratory, both animals tested positive for the disease.
The source of the outbreak has not yet been determined.
