EU - DSM Nutritional Products is pleased to confirm that RONOZYME® NP is now also officially authorised for use in sow feed in the European Union. After intensive work by DSM scientists and regulatory experts, and a positive safety assessment by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), approval has been granted according to Commission Regulation (EU) No 999/2010. As of 25 November 2010, the date of legal enforcement of the regulation approving RONOZYME® NP can now be sold for use in sow feed in the European Union. RONOZYME® NP is already registered for poultry, fattening pigs and piglet applications.
RONOZYME® NP is the new phytase product within the RONOZYME® feed enzyme portfolio. The new product provides an even greater release of phytate phosphorus compared to previous phytases, allowing customers to capture all the associated commercial and technical benefits.
Stéphanie Beaulieu, Category Manager Enzyme EMEA, and Arne Korsbak, Market Development Manager Phytase NSP Enzyme EMEA, said: “This is a great achievement and will allow sow farmers to also harvest the benefits of RONOZYME® NP. Furthermore, due leading formulation technology and better phytate phosphorus release RONOZYME® NP enables high feed cost savings of up to EUR 11–12 per ton, as well as better heat stability and superior in-feed mixability.“
