Brazil's Pork Export Value Steady in January

BRAZIL - Pork export volume in January was almost 11 per cent lower than in the same month of the previous year but the value of those exports was up 2.8 per cent in US dollar terms.

According to ABIPECS, Brazil exported 34,809 tons of pork in January 2011, which is 10.9 per cent less than the same month last year. The average price per ton in US dollars – $2,673 – was 15.4 per cent higher than one year ago. The value of January's sales was just over US$93 million, which was 2.8 per cent more than January 2010.
