Russia Reports Six New Outbreaks of ASF

RUSSIA - The Russian veterinary authorities have reported six new outbreaks of African swine fever in wild boar and swine in several regions.

The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received follow-up report no. 51 yesterday, 22 February.

In the case of swine, a total of 39 animals were found susceptible to the disease, out of which, 25 cases were identified. Six deaths were recorded, while the remaining 13 animals were destroyed.

In the case of wild boar, 16 cases were identified, out of which 14 deaths were recorded and 2 animals were destroyed.

The source of the outbreak is still under investigation.
