The scheme allows farmers to use the RSPCA label on their product, if they adhere to stringent animal welfare requirements.

According to ABC, about 2,000 butchers and retailers across the country are now stocking the approved pork.

Marketing manager Hope Bertram told ABC that in the past year, farmer interest in their accreditation has spiked.
