The objective is to identify tools/techniques that are currently used or being researched (i.e. oral fluids, filter papers etc.), and to compile information on the effect of each tool on diagnostic test sensitivity/specificity, according to CSHB.

While searchable databases are being used (including the AASV swine library), CSHB wants to ensure a comprehensive list. So, it is asking for input on tools or techniques that are not well described in the literature. Please contact CSHB [click here] if one of the below applies:

  • Veterinarians using alternative sampling methods: anyone willing to share protocols, the commercial suppliers of tools, or the diagnostic lab(s) running PRRSv testing on these samples.
  • Commercial suppliers: if you are offering tools for alternative sampling please contact us to ensure your products are considered in this project.
  • Researchers or diagnostic laboratories: anyone willing to share unpublished observations about diagnostic test performance on alternative samples.
