Mongolia Reports Outbreak of Blue-Ear Disease

MONGOLIA - The Mongolian veterinary authorities have reported an outbreak of blue-ear disease, also known as porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS), at a pig farm in the Tuv region.

The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received an immediate notification yesterday, 16 May.

A total of 39 pigs were found susceptible to the disease, out of which 20 cases and deaths were reported.

The source of the outbreak remains unknown.
