New PRRS Outbreak Reported in Tuv Region

MONGOLIA - The Mongolian veterinary authorities have reported a new outbreak of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) at a farm in the Tuv region.

The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received it's first follow-up report on 20 June.

A total of 33 pigs were found susceptible to the disease, showing an apparent morbidity rate of 100 per cent. All animals were destroyed.

The source of the outbreak remains inconclusive.
