One More Outbreak of ASF in Tverskaya Oblast

RUSSIA - The Russian veterinary authorities have reported yet another outbreak of African swine fever at a farm in Tverskaya Oblast.

The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received follow-up report no. 51 on Friday, 3 June.

The report states that a total of 336 pigs were affected, out of which 127 cases were reported. The OIE reports a 100 per cent case fatality rate.

While swill feeding is suspected to be the primary cause of the outbreak, other causes are still under investigation.
