The Pig Journal provides an international vehicle for the publication of original reviews, scientific studies and case observations in all aspects of pig medicine and husbandry. Volume 65 continues as a fully refereed journal.
Clinical practice has always been the key subject: there are two articles on swine dysentery, one which describes the control of the disease in East Anglia, while the second covers the economic aspects of the disease. There is also a paper which describes mortality in the pigs of Tamil Nadu.
In the general section, there is a paper reviewing the global situation of swine influenza.
In the 'Case Report' section, there are presentations of new clinical disease outbreaks. The first describes Haemophilus parasuis type 10 infection in finishers and the second describes the first documented cases of Pneumocystis carinii in UK pigs.
Abstracts of the papers can be viewed on the Pig Journal web site.
