New Outbreak of CSF in Russia
RUSSIA - The Russian food safety and veterinary authority Rosselkhoznador has reported a new outbreak of African swine fever in the Krasnodar Territory.This week the Kropotkin veterinary laboratory isolated genetic material of African swine fever virus in samples from pigs that died on a private farm in the village of Leninsky in the Krasnodar Territory Abinsk.
The outbreak has affected 147 pigs on the farm and since the start of teh outbreak 34 have come down with the disease and four have died.
Rosselkhoznadzor and the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Adygea authorities have implemented a set of measures aimed at the localising the infection and prevent further spread of the disease.
