Animal feed thefts may be to blame for the latest outbreaks of ASF on industrial farms, according to The Moscow Times, citing a report on the web site of the country’s food safety watchdog.

In two instances in the Tver and Krasnodar regions, pig feed was reported stolen from industrial farms and it is possible that the bags used to carry the feed out came from private yards and helped spread the infection, said spokesman, Alexei Alekseyenko.
