Wild Boar Shot for African Swine Fever Tests in Tver

RUSSIA - Tests taken of samples from wild boar shot in the hunting region of Tver by the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Veterinary Virology and Microbiology found them to contain genetic material of African Swine Fever.

Tests also reveals teh disease on the Venevskaya hunting area in the Venevsky district of Tula.

The state veterinary services in Tver and Tula together with Rosselkhoznador the Russian veterinary authority in Tver, Pskov and Moscow are monitoring the spread of African Swine Fever and continuing shoots on wild boar in Moscow and Kaluga to test for the disease.
