Scottish Pig Numbers Down in June
UK - The total number of pigs fell by 44,000 (12.1 per cent) to 319,400, having fallen most years since 1998.

There was a decrease in the number of pigs for meat production of 40,700 (12.6 per cent).
The pig breeding herd also decreased by 3,400 (10.6 per cent), though there was an increase in the number of gilts over 50kg to be used for breeding of 680 (12.6 per cent).
