Argentina Confirms CSF, PRRS-free Status
ARGENTINA - The absence of classical swine fever (CSF) and porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) viruses in Argentina has been ratified based on the annual serological survey conducted by the National Service for Animal Health and Food Quality (SENASA) in pig populations.

As part of the epidemiological surveillance of diseases of pigs, 6733 serum samples were taken between June and September, relieving 836 randomly selected establishments around the country, including 100 per cent of genetics. Samples were processed and analysed at the SENASA laboratory.
The samples were also referred to the analysis of diseases that are not present in the country as Transmissible Gastroenteritis (TGE) and African swine fever (ASF).
Furthermore, analysis of the serum samples allowed detection of Aujeszky's disease that is present in the country's properties. In relation to the control of this disease, SENASA has registered the findings of positive serology, carrying out procedures according to each case.
The sampling design used observed populations at risk, including genetics groups.
