November 2013 Pork Export Volume, Value Down Compared to 2012

BRAZIL - The volume and value of Brazilian pork exported during November were down compared to the same period last year.

According to the latest figures from ABIPECS, Brazil exported almost 39 tonnes of pork in November, down 24.3 per cent compared to 51.09 tonnes in the same month last year. The total volume of pork exported from January to November 2013 was 480 tons compared to 541.06 tons during the same period last year, indicating a drop of 11 per cent.

The value of pork exported this November was US$102.55, down by 25.32 per cent compared to November 2012, where the figure stood at US$137.32. The total value of pork exported during January to November 2013 was US$1,258.2, compared to US$1,391.5 during the same period last year, down by 9.5 per cent.

The average value of pork in November 2013 was $2,652 per ton, down 1.3 per cent compared to the same month last year, where the average value was $2,688 per ton. Overall, the average value of pork during January to November 2013 was $2,621 per ton, up 1.93 per cent compared to the same period in 2012, where the figure stood at $2,572 per ton.
