Draughts are a particular cause of problems and should be regularly assessed, says ACMC veterinary consultant, Paul Thompson.

He advises producers to stand inside their buildings on a bright day and check of chinks of light coming through small gaps and to then plug them. The lying patterns of pig should be watched to see if they are comfortable, he adds.
