With the theme, 'Pigs, Parma & Prosciutto - production for unique food brands' EPP will organise an attractive program in order to learn something about production of food under special conditions and for unique markets all over the world. The association will bring together pig farmers from (northern) Europe with colleagues in Italy and create with them a platform to exchange experiences how to meet the different challenges in the different countries.

Pig production in Italy is characterised by one production line which is unique IN and which creates specialties FOR the world: Parma ham! The pig farmers have to fulfill strict requirements regarding feeding and keeping the heavy 'Parma pigs'. Within lectures and farm visits, participants will have the chance to get in contact with pig farmers in this region.

As well as Parma ham there are other specialties from this region: Parma cheese and prosciutto, as well as noodle production and the production of Italian wines are located in the Region of Parma in North Italy. EPP Congress participants will have the chance to visit the processing plants where these specialities are produced.

You can find the full EPP Congress programme on the EPP web site [click here] and you can register by clicking here. Only EPP members can register before 28 February.
