Nine More Cases of African Swine Fever in Russian Wild Boar
RUSSIA - Another nine wild boar in the Tula and Bryansk regions of western Russia have tested positive for the African Swine Fever virus.

The report mentions two separate outbreaks of African Swine Fever.
The first was in Elovets in Bryansk. On 6 February, three wild boar were found dead and a further two animals were shot at the State wildlife preserve, Kletnyansky. Two wild boars were shot in the same area. Laboratory studies confirmed that the wild boars were infected with African swine fever virus
The second outbreak was one day later, on 7 February, at Sentsovo in Tula oblast. At the game reserve, Yasnogorie, four wold boar were found dead. This is just 500 metres from the Milinskoye reserve, where virus-infected wild boars were reported shot on 15 February.
Laboratory studies of all cases confirmed that the wild boars were infected with African Swine Fever virus.
