Investigation Reveals Violations of African Swine Fever Controls
RUSSIA - The authorities have uncovered 42 violations of the regulations on the controls for African swine fever in two regions and imposed fines of RUB85,000.According to the Russian state veterinary service, Rosselkhoznadzor, employees of the department of veterinary supervision in Nizhny Novgorod region and the Republic of Mari El have carried out 28 inspections of companies involved in the production and sale of pork and its products.
The aim was to prevent the spread and eradicate African swine fever from the territory of the Russian Federation, according to Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, A. Dvorkovich.
Investigations revealed 42 violations of the veterinary legislation and a total of RUB85,000 in fines were imposed for 22 administrative offences.
