Further Cases of African Swine Fever in Latvia

LATVIA - Twenty-two new outbreaks of African Swine Fever (ASF) have been reported in Kraslava, Dagda county and Valka county.

According to The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) report, there has been 16 cases of ASF in swine and 18 cases in wild boar between 22 July and 4 August.

The outbreaks occurred between 22 July and 4 August, with the first being in Kraslava county, located in the south east of the country.

Five swine and 11 wild boar have been found dead, infected with ASF, and a further 64 swine and seven wild boar have been destroyed.

The source of the outbreak is still unknown.
