Further Outbreaks of African Swine Fever in Poland

POLAND - African Swine Fever (ASF) has been detected in two domestic pigs and one wild boar in the Podlaskie area, in the far east of the country which boarders with Belarus.

The notified cases were found on the 30 July in wild boar and on the 5 August in a domestic pig.

The two wild boar were found dead with the disease, and the domestic pig was destroyed.

The notified cases of ASF in wild boars and pigs have been detected in the already infected area under certain restrictions concerning African swine fever (this area has been established in accordance with the European Union legislation - Commission Implementing Decision 2014/178/EU).

Appropriate restrictions concerning African swine fever in pigs have been implemented.
