New Case of African Swine Fever in Polish Wild Boar

POLAND - A wild boar on the eastern border of Poland has tested positive for African swine fever.

The veterinary authority sent Follow Up Report No. 16 dated 19 September to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).

According to the report, one wild boar in the region of Podlaskie in the east of the country near the border with Belarus was found dead on 12 September and tested positive for the African swine fever virus.

There have been previous cases of the disease in the region and control measures are already in pace.
